Get Happy!

‎Posted August 24, 2010 in Our Friends, Sightings. Tagged with .

There's nothing, no, NOTHING, that makes us happier here in the magical Land of Fred than to see our products being used and enjoyed in the real world. Check out these babies: It seems that author/illustrator Grace Lin has many things to be happy about lately, including recently having a Newbury Honor bestowed upon her. It warms our design-lovin' hearts to see our TEACUPCAKES gracing Grace's table and adding that special something to the party!

I See London, I See Fred

While 99% of the gang was in NY setting up at the Gift Show, 1% snuck away to North Adams, Massachusetts to see Wilco's Solid Sound Festival at Mass MoCA. And holy heck was it fun! (So I'm told.) But what was more fun was spying our products out in the real world. Here are a couple snaps from the museum shop. We hear over and over again, "Once you're aware of Fred products, you'll start seeing them everywhere." So we've added a new Sightings category to our blog. We'd like to pin our virtual map of all the places throughout the world where folks find our stuff, so go ahead, send us your photos of Fred products (and their location). And for the first five submissions, we're giving away an ice tray of your choice. (Sorry, U.S. only. Boo!) North Adams, Massachusetts: You're on the map!

Cakewich, Tried and True

‎Posted August 18, 2010 in Our Friends, Sightings. Tagged with .

It's so much fun to see our products put to use in the real world. Today we're featuring two bloggers who recently put Cakewich to the test. Lisa who writes the Spicy Ice Cream blog in Sidney, Australia, made the cake using the recipe on the box. Click over to her page and read about her results. PBJ cakewich Then we have the Giant Baking Adventures over at Hello Moye. As was the case with Spicy Ice Cream, this Cakewich looked exactly like a sandwich — so much so that they made a regular PB&J for a side-by-side comparison. Giant Sandwich Cake Baking We hope you guys had fun! Thanks…and happy baking!

The Most Important Meal…

‎Posted June 30, 2010 in Our Friends, Sightings. Tagged with .

It's breakfast, right? Everyone knows that. You might not have know it's also one of the the three funnest meals of the day. Megan J. clearly likes to start the day with a smile, as evidenced by her fine breakfast tableau shown here, utilizing our own Food Face plate. The mini 'stache is a particularly nice touch. Thanks, Megan- happy eating!
