The Joy of FRED Blog

A final word from our Intern

After a week-long recovery period, I'm back for one last no-holds-barred, tell-all blog post to show you guys what really went down at the New York International Gift Fair. Read on to find out what it was like to set up the BEST BOOTH EVER. It actually starts with a completely empty space. I was in charge of putting down the carpet tile because of my "low center of gravity." One…by one…by one…ugh, it's making my knees hurt thinking about it. We set up tables, shelves and lights, and then the big product unpacking commences. The mess was up to my eyeballs, and Jason's knees. (Tell us how you really feel, Carl!) Everything really shines under the big lights of the convention center. My resistance proved futile. Three days later…FINISHED! …just in time for the sales team. The Gift Fair was huge! I spent hours wandering through the Javits Center looking at all the booths. I have never seen so much shiny stuff at any given point in my life and, subsequently, had to try so hard not to touch anything and everything. I'm so glad I had the chance to go and be a part of it all. I had a great time interning at Fred. I miss nearly everyone already and hope to see them soon! Thanks for tuning in! Rosie (We miss you too Rosie! Thanks for spending your summer with us. Have a fantastic final year at RISD! xoxo)
